Bean Adventure vs Twee, Diffit & Workbookly
Updated: October 27, 2026
Most "video to lesson" tools read the transcript and write text about the video. Bean Adventure works from the video itself: it selects key frames, keeps the transcript editable, builds an outline, and prints everything as a picture lesson. This page says plainly where each tool beats the others — including where another tool will serve you better than ours.

Where another tool beats Bean Adventure
- You need auto-generated quiz questions. We do not generate questions. Twee, Classorium, and Workbookly build exercises from the transcript; if you want ready-made quizzes, they are the stronger pick.
- You teach leveled reading. Diffit rewrites one text at many reading levels across 70+ languages, with a generous free tier. That is not our job and we do not try to do it.
- You want one free tool for everything. MagicSchool is free for individual educators with 80+ tools across every subject. If your week spans planning, grading, and admin, start there.
- You need Google Classroom export or LMS integration. Several competitors export directly; we print and save PDFs instead.
Where Bean Adventure is genuinely different
- Lessons built from real frames. The smart frame selection picks the visual moments of the video, so the printed lesson shows what happened — a picture lesson, not a text summary. Most transcript-based tools never touch the video image.
- Your own video files. Upload MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, or AVI up to 500 MB. Most tools in this list only accept a YouTube URL, which rules out school-recorded and offline videos.
- Private by default. Videos and lesson images are stored privately for your account, not published to a shared library.
- Pay as you go. Credits work for occasional use — a one-time pack covers a term of lessons without a subscription. See pricing and credits.
Pick something else when…

- You need the same reading at three difficulty levels tomorrow → try Diffit.
